Awesome! I live a little into the woods along the highway, so I don't get trick or treaters. I still decorate anyway!

On the eve of Halloween, I attended a small costume shindig, and on the actual day, my "housemates" (we live in the same house, but different apartments) threw a Halloween costume "block" party (it's actually a dirt driveway with our house and two duplexes in the back, with a troll living in one of them.) Mostly every one came in costume! I made my own costume, so I was happy that I got to wear it two nights in a row. We had a pumpkin carving night, and they all came out awesome, but we've already lost two to rot after only a week (since it was a warm Halloween.) I should probably post them, with my alien costume! Halloween fucking rocked this year!

I have special prizes for kids who come dressed as dinos or aliens. This year, no prizes were claimed. Maybe next year.

I was a little hesitant to post some of these pictures, for fear that I was treating Deviant Art as MySpace, but I figured that I drew enough diagrams and sketches for my costume for the snapshot of it to go under the "costume design" category (if there is one.) I just need my boyfriend's Nikon to upload them. I already have my next costume for next year (a viperfish), but it will take more time for completion, and I need to figure out how to wire up a "working photophore."

It always baffles me on how people don't like Halloween! Maybe they don't like to have fun. I don't know. I thought that traditions such as Trick or Treating bring the community together, you know?

Yea, halloween is the best - it should last a week. For me, it lasts a month haha
Getting us off our butts, into costumes and having to talk to people IS community as far as I'm concerned too.
